AMN Construction

Mission.

The owners wanted calm and light, and room to host. The house's best feature, its vaulted ceilings and trusses, stayed.

A living room with a vaulted, white-painted board ceiling and exposed trusses, wide-plank wood floors, a long picture window to the garden, a stacked stone fireplace, and sliding glass doors
The living room: white-painted trusses, board ceiling, stone fireplace

The brief

A full remodel near the Old Mission: nine months of construction, finished in 2026. The owners wanted it calm and light, with room to host.

The vaulted, white-painted board ceilings and exposed trusses were the best thing in the house, and they stayed. Around them, everything changed, down to black-framed sliding doors to the garden.

The constraint

The hardest part: keeping the character of the house, the ceilings and trusses above all, while everything around them changed.
