Drywall and Plaster Math in 3D

Fourteen scenes for the numbers a drywall hanger, finisher or plasterer uses: board counts, screw spacing, tape, coats, plaster volume and lift loads. Move a slider and the room, sheet or section changes with it. Each scene shows the work with your numbers, tags every value as exact math, sourced, crew practice or unverified, and ends with a short quiz.

Code values (screw spacing, lath spans, plaster thickness, fastener length) were read on a third-party mirror of the 2025 California Residential Code, not the state-published book, so check them against the printed code and confirm with County Building and Safety before you rely on them. Montecito is unincorporated Santa Barbara County; the County’s adoption date for the 2025 codes was not found. Level-of-finish coat counts come from the Gypsum Association document GA-214-2021. The rest is arithmetic and geometry.
